Dr. Shellman is awesome! He really knows his stuff. Great sense of humor too.
What a breath of fresh air to have a doctor tell you exactly what you need to do to be healthy, and the risks associated with not changing behaviors like smoking and eating habits, and then leave it up to you regarding whether or not you want to follow his advice on how to live longer. If you don't want to hear the truth, then you should probably look elsewhere.
Hopefully I can post this giving zero stars, but it might make me give him at least one. Wow, it is making me give him one, that's one more than he's earned.

Dr.Robert Shellman is an awesome doctor in my opinion! He has helped me considerably just in the 1st appointment with him. I am looking forward in seeing what other methods & treatments he will prescribe to help me breath better with my Asthma & C.O.P.D. Love his bedside manner as well. He is funny, yet very professional as well.....
If you're an elderly patient, who wants doctor who will take the time, for which you pay your doctor quite well, to listen to and address your questions and concerns, who will listen to you about your own needs, (after all you've lived in your body a long time, who would know better?), then DON'T go to Dr. Shellman. If you question him at all with your own perspective or concern, he will ask you "who is the doctor?" If you want to pay a doc well for his arrogance then he is the one. Insist that your concern be taken into consideration and he will tell you that you need a psychologist. He did all that to my 91 year old grandmother today. Mamaw is not senile in any way, and the suggestion that she needed a psychologist for being insistent left her feeling like a bad child. Mamaw and Papaw are retired farmers, so they are self-pay. I can't believe how well he got paid for that scam of doctor's appointment. His last words to her were, "I'm done with you, from now on you'll be seeing Dr. So-and-So."
In 2014 I went down sick and was diagnosed with cancer in my right lung. I was scared of course and went to see DR. SHELLMAN, I have never been to such a cold hearted, non caring person in my life. EVERY visit that I went to see this man , he was more interested in shaming me about my weight. Don't misunderstand that I am NOT extremely over weight BUT at that stage of my life I was more interested and frightened with that 6 letter word-"CANCER!" This so called Dr. could have cared less about my fears. EVERY TIME that I went to see this sorry excuse for a man or Dr. ,I had either my daughter ( who is in the medical field too or my husband and THEY to were astounded at DR. SHELLMANS attitude. I went 1 time without anyone and that is when he said that I had CANCER, turned around and walked out NEVER to see him again. "I TRULY FEEL THAT HIS LICENSES SHOULD BE PULLED AND HAVE TRIED TO WARN PEOPLE OF HIS NON CARING ATTITUDE. I FIRED HIM!" Dr. SHELLMAN is a guack. My last visit was in December of 2014 and he didn't want to see me again until MAY. ON May 13,2015 my cancer was removed by some of the best Drs. that I could ever have hoped for at ST. FRANCIS & GOD BLESS THE HOSPITAL ,DRS., AND NURSES FOR SUCH LOVING AND CARING SERVICE!"
